on the cork board #r-togor@jag - there was discussion to online punishment by Free Persons on others property by Lord Falcon@jag - he made several interesting points I thought were entitled to a discussion - several quotes included - to read the whole thing go to #r-togor@jag and also #r-gorcork@gor which again was errupted into a full scale row simply because not all the people there do not appreciate opinions - but his points from quotes were these:

so should any online Free Person claiming to be Gorean be entitled to punish abjectly others property ? My response was this:

That is one of my most used quotes to new people who enter Gor seeking to become Master - within the books -ANY Free Person has the right to punish a slave, yet I think that such a right should not exist online - Why ?

I have witnessed new slaves entering Gor for the first time - they are trying to get to grips with it - they make a mistake - what I see is punishment instead of correction and encouragement and I have to ask:

Do online Goreans really understand the nature of a Master/slve relationship ?

Online a new slave can simply click and be gone never to return again - an experienced Master should learn when to punish and when to correct and encourage - again I stress Education is the key to online survival.

Online, I do not think many Masters really understand the nature of punishment, the caress of the whip, the striking of the flat blades - they are like loose cannons - I do not permit others to punish Mine - you could say "That is not true Gor" - well, unless you show me a true Gorean Master that would punish mine for the right reasons I say so what?. There ARE others however who would simply correct them and suggest punishement and I will if I see fit do carry it out, there ARE others that would whip if it was deemed neccessery for the RIGHT reasons - that is where I think the difference to online Free Persons punishing others property - and besides, mine are well enough trained as to not piss me off !!! *WEG*
