: : Tal, and greetings ........... : Once again, the topic of *WHO * and *WHEN * slaves can or should be punished is raised...... In all truth, tis is a topic that has as many answers as it has those that ask it, or reply to it.......LOL.. : If I may make a few points that feel should be considered, It may help others to either rethink their own position, or at the very least help them understand how the * other * Master may see it differently then they do....... : First and foremost, is the point that was well made by My brother, Xern...... Being here, by ALL ..... Free and slave alike, is consensual....... Just as we Masters can’t punish or kill that HNG that comes into the room and makes a total ass of himself because he doesn’t care what we say, or how we try to deal with him......... The same can be said for kajira that choose to ignore or not care what any Master other then her own does to her........... Is that wrong ???? YES....... can we change such thinking ??? ONLY if we have the owner punish the kajira, and have it mean something to HER !!!! : Lets face facts...... honoring ANYTHING..... from an on-line death in the sand pit, to that cuffing for doing something wrong ....... is the option of the one it happens to....... It shows the personal integrity of the individual .... the willingness to accept the outcome of their own actions...... How often have we seen a fight that ends in a death, only to see the *dead * man back walking around a couple of days later... either with His old name still intact, or a *new * name that everybody knows is him anyway...... I have seen the same type of action from slaves...... *playing* the part... standing at the post being whipped for some reason or the other, and laughing in whispers to her sisters about how little it means to them........ Understand this.... I point NO fingers at individuals.....nor do I say this to incite any anger in ANY certain persons.... It is a symptom of Our whole on-line community....... there are many that have been guilty of these acts, or ones close to them...... : So what is * MORE * wrong, or more useless ?????? The Master punishing a slave that doesn’t honor or accept His punishment truly and deeply...... Or the slave that takes the punishment, ACTING the part of kajira, yet truthfully feels not the LEAST BIT sad or hurt at being punished ??????? : Now lets speak of a Master punishing another’s slave........ Yes, it was said in the books that it was done, and legal to do so....... But lets remember two points here...... The owner, retained the right to challenge the act of ANY other against himself or his property...... Putting it in context..... If My dog came and barked at You, and you reacted by calling it names, and chasing it off, I might agree with You and kick it in the ass Myself....... But should You instead lash out, and kick My dog and injure it, You may rest assured that it will not be My dogs ass that gets kicked, but YOURS !!!!!!!! Simply put, it remains that * I * OWN the animal...... * I * alone will decide what it eats.... when it is excersized...... and if and when it is punished for ANYTHING....... It also goes to show that people do not always agree on just what level of punishment is just and appropriate for any misconduct...... : We must remember that on-line Gor is just that..... ON-LINE ...... We try as hard as we can to keep it as close to the ways of the books........ BUT, it is NOT the books.... by nature, things will never be exactly as they were in the books...... some amount of latitude must be allowed and expected by everyone to make this system of ours continue to work in the on-line context....... Such latitude must be expected BY, and FROM both sides..... Free, and slave alike...... To think otherwise is not reasonable to My way of thinking...... NOTE , that I said * My * way of thinking..... ..LOL...LOL... I have learned from a lifetime of dealing with My fellow man, that one can never expect to get everybody else to agree with his ideas or point of view......LOL.. all I ask is that You think about this points and ideas.. ... and consider them and there impact on your own position.....
