Tal, Serbitar.

I will probably continue to call you Serbitar, even if you have changed your name. Do not take it as an insult. In fact, my intention is the opposite. Also, it makes my life so much simpler, remembering one name rather than two.

There are a few things which must be addressed first before you wish to return to Gorean Shores as a Scribe.

First, you are technically still under a temporary ban in this tavern. Your words and actions of late make me think that this ban will be lifted by vote of the Council, but a vote is still needed. I have placed an email vote for the Council, and will advise you of the results soon.

Second, Serbitar is not dead, at least not in Gorean Shores, unless you wish him to be. A death in another tavern has no significance in Gorean Shores unless you choose to give it significance. If Rollo is "killed" in some chat site, he isn't dead in GS, because the Council cannot control the actions and decisions in another site. The only exception to this rule is when an Assassin of the Guild is killed in a foreign site, under their rules, while engaged in Guild business. From what I can gather from your fight with Jason Marshall, that was not the case.

Jason Marshall's site may choose to permanantly ban you (in all forms) as a result of your fight. But we will not. Therefore, you may reject the "death" if you wish; or you can accept the "death". If you accept it, then this would mean that you have decided to leave online Gor forever. Clearly that does not appear to be the case.

So, perhaps more correctly, it should be stated that you dispute the "death" of Serbitar, at least as far as Gorean Shores is concerned, but you wish to set aside your name and caste, and begin anew.

This brings us to the final point. A patron of Gorean Shores cannot simply change caste at will. If you wish to be a Scribe, then petition the Council for a change. As you might recall: Ruilan requested a change of caste from Warrior to Scribe, and it was granted. And I recall one of the Assassins requested a change as well, which was granted.

A Scribe is the second highest caste on Gor. Raising caste is not something which can be done unilaterally. If you wish to be a Scribe, petition the Council, and we will consider and vote upon said request.

If the Council votes to lift your ban and raise you in caste, you will be more than welcome to return to Gorean Shores in the blue of the Scribes. You have learned much in your time on Gor, Serbitar, and I hope that you will continue to learn and educate others as well.

I wish you well, and look forward to the day when I will see you again in the tavern.

Xern
