*hugs her beautiful sister and whispers in her ear* Kick their ass sis, how dare they treat him like that! you fight and fight hard sis, dont let them get away with it sis. love you sis Property of Sir Garawin : Yesterday.. a girl's son returned to the school for the deaf near where we live.. this is his 4th year going.. he's 8 years old.. now last year he was diagnosed as being insulin dependent diabetic.. and he stays up at the school for the week and comes home on Fridays.. the bus company that picks him up knows that mom gives him his insulin shot in the morning before he catches the bus and when he gets on the transfer bus.. they had ALWAYS given him his breakfast that *i* send up with him.. he needs to eat anywhere from 20-30 minutes after he gets his shot.. well yesterday the bus company didn't give him his breakfast.. when he got to school the nurse called and let me know.. and that he signed to her that he needed to eat.. and she signed asking him why he didn't on the bus.. he replied.. 'i don't know'.. needless to say i was PISSED at the ignorance of the bus company for not allowing him to eat.. and between a girl's hubby and herself.. we called everyone we could think of.. after the superintendent of our school district called the bus company of the transfer point.. they decided that since my child is diabetic.. they don't wish to transport him to school.. they don't want the added responsibility of having to make sure he will eat.. (all they have to do is hand him his bag.. he will eat.. and it's not like his diabetes is contagious).. his glucose level was ok.. yet.. with them not letting him eat on the bus.. it could had sent him into a diabetic coma since his insulin shot had already went to work on his system.. the ride to school is over an hour long.. Today the superintendent of the school district did call and say that alternate transportation arrangements have been arranged for the remainder of the school year.. for which mom's very pleased.. : ~stepping off the soap box.. she departs~ : kajira of Tyrik,
