thyri has done a lil' searching and found some info...

this information states that a slave kisses the rim and sips for purity, then lifts each cup in offering, then telling what each cup represents (all three cups are drank in rapid succession)

They are: 1st cup: the bitter first fruits of life
the gain had from the work of others, bitter because they are taken not earned...

2nd cup: the contentment of adulthood, the gain of work from one's own hand hard fought but gain is elusive...

3rd cup: the enlightenment that comes with experience and old age, the perfect union of one's own hard work coupled with the knowledge that everone needs help from others as well...
