Posted by Liana on July 23, 19100 at 14:05:28: I've been sitting back, watching, listening, offering My opinion, in very small doses, not talking a lot about the issues of Free Women that are at hand. Well, now it's my turn on the soap box. Before Any of Us Pledged to GS, I'm sure All/Most, read the rules, now, I'm not going to go copying and pasting, quoting anything, We A/all know how to read, know where the rules are at...so, read them. There is a rule there that says there will be no switching in GS. So be it, liek I said, those rules were posted LONG ago, and were there when every one of Us pledged. It's a rule, that's should be all there is to it. BUT, then we get someone in here, that doesn't like the rules, or maybe a few people that don't like that rule, and think that an exception should be made. Should it?? I don't know, I'm not the Captains. Thank goodness, cause that would be a hard one to call. Especially when the ones are r/t friends, or v/t friends, have been known in GS for a long time. So, so We change the rules? No, I think not. WOuld the rules be changed if a FW was face stripped, didn't think it was fair, made a plea to the Council? No, they wouldn't change. Would the rules for two Warriors sparring in the sand pit be changed, because the losing Warrior didn't think the rules were fair? No, the rules wouldn't have been changed then either. So, why is it even being considered now?? I realize that Gor isn't fair, but, what about the FW that have acted only as a FW should?? I can only name a Few that fit that bill. Some are raising hell about the respect of FW. The only ones that are raising that hell are the ones that have been slaves in the past, for the true FW of Gorean Shores have no been show that disrespect, and if They ever have, have put a stop to it immediately, and not by "brow beating" people, but by showing the same respect that We expect Others to show Us. I have not been treated badly, or shown disrespect by the Men of Gor. Nor do I expect to be treated badly and shown disrespect. I may not have always agreed with the Council on certain issues, but, as I said before, I am not the Council. When I took the pledge to Gorean Shores, I agreed that the Council would have the final say in matters.. I agreed that these would be the Men/Women that lead the room, and that their words are law. That's all part of pledging ONes Honor to GS. Not to use it to fit Your own wants and desires. When You pledged, You agreed to these same rules as Everyone else. Now, why should they be changed?? They shouldn't, you agreed to them before, live with it!!! *putting down the writing stick, and stepping off My soap box* Liana
