In all honesty, has not the institution of marriage been in effect legalised slavery of women for centuries, if not for the entire history of mankind ????? Until the last few decades, once a woman was married to her husband, she became His ..... to treat as He pleased ..... Women have been chattel.... possessions.... cooks ... breeding stock .... and bed warmers...... It is only in the last few decades...... maybe a century or so at best.....that Western societies... ( Those that most of us on-line are concerned with or come from.....) have even come up with this * Equal Rights for Women * concept .... Women could not vote....... Could not own land, or inherit unless NO male was available within the family...... : Now, on to the idea of a Master loving His slave..... This depends on the meaning of all the terms used.... * love, higher, lower, works, possible ...* ????? Is it possible...??? Yes, if for no other reason, ANYTHING is possible........ Can it work.. ??? Again Yes, because with enough work put into it, once again, anything can be made to work.... how well it works is another matter....... As for higher or lower ...??? higher or lower than what ??? lower than hate ??? higher than ecstasy ??? : Let Me say it this way..... Yes two people can love each other deeply... Deeply enough that either would be willing to lay down their life for the other..... That neither feel that life could go on without the other there by their side..... Is this the love that you ask about.???? The blinding passion that brings two, together..... that over time turns to a mutual need and caring that binds them even closer ??? For this is the love of a man for His woman, and hers for Him..... : Can a man love His slave like this ???? Can a slave love her Master like this ???? Does a man loving His slave this deeply make Him weak ???? Okay, I say that yes, a man can love His slave..... can love her enough to keep her slave, and make her know that she is loved.... desired.... and Mastered by a MAN !!! Yes, a slave can love her Master enough to serve Him unquestioningly, to need His touch, need His acceptance, to need Him ..... on His terms, and not on her own.... If a man loves, He doesn’t care what others think of His loved one..... Gorean men may well worry about how His love for a slave is seen by others, mainly because in the books it was spoken so often as a fear of men to be seen as weak .... I submit that such a love could not make the man weak, for to love is by no means to show weakness...... The only way such a love could make the man look weak, would be if either He lets the slave bend His will to hers, or if she used His love for her to get Him to do anything that He would not normally do.... In short if the woman ( slave ) used her love as a tool, or even a weapon against the man, His weakness would be shown as plainly as if He had lost any battle ..... : Love slave or FC ????? Okay, I may be stirring up a full on hornets nest here, but ponder this answer......???? No, any Gorean would NOT change His love slave to His FC.... They are two different things...... Many times it is spoken about of love slaves, and how much a man cares for them.... How many times does anybody remember in the books of it speaking about a man loving His FC as much ????? I am truly NOT trying to say anything against FW, or FC’s here, but pointing out a simple fact .... That in the books, FC’s were treated as social companions, mothers of Free born children, and most times, little else..... : So now that I have every Free Woman on Gor screaming of My blood.... And have many Men ready to tell Me that I am full of bosk droppings for saying that a true love CAN come to be between a Master and His slave.... Let Me draw a few more parallels..... Historically, Is a marriage not like a modern day purchase of a slave ??? I mean, the price is kept low.. ( The price of a marriage licence is only a few dollars ) ... The woman takes the Mans last name.... Becoming * His * property... And all new social rhetoric aside, in the couple, the Man is seen as the * Head of the House *... the * Lord and Master *.... the * BOSS *...... so He is the woman’s Master ........ Look at the MAJORITY of the happily married couples that you know..... Does the women * Run * the show, or does the Man ???? Is the female the leader or the follower....??? Even if it to the mans side, and almost level with Him, she is still behind... protected, and following His lead...... Does not the man of the couple still have the final say in any matter that He cares to get involved with ???? From what He wants for dinner, to where they will live..... So even if only in the abstract , Husbands may still be called the Masters, and wives are little better off than very lucky slaves, with many small freedoms to make their slavery pleasant........ : : LOL..LOL...... But then again, This is only MY opinion or idea on the subject, and I am sure that many will find fault, or disagree with, many of the things I have said here.....
