Posted by va`lain {A} on June 21, 19100 at 06:27:35: : Greetings A/all, : va is searching for A/any who know what the meaning of the kef is. she knows it is first letter of "kajira" thus the most common brand on gor. However, somewhere in the books she had read that the staff, and each frond has a significant meaning. va is hoping there is S/someone who knows of this and where to find it she has been scanning her books for a few days now ~giggles~ and it is driving her crazy. : A/any with a clue to this, please contact va. : setting down the writing stick, va wishes A/all well ~soft smile~ ~walking~ to the board once again, her steps happy, and lively, she picks up the writing stick, ~smiling brightly~ thanx jasma, va appreciates you trying to help, as she stated, she knows the kef is the first letter in "kajira", this one should of noted that she too has read the definition in the Gorean Dictionary, what she sought, was the meaning of each part of the kef. ~smile~
Pg. 11-12 Explorers of Gor: " I saw the brand on her thigh. Although the brand was the first letter, in cursive Gorean script, of the most common Gorean expression for a slave girl. 'Kajira', its symbolism, I think, is much richer than this. For example, in the slave brand, the 'Kef', though clearly a Kef and in cursive script, is more floral, in the extended, upturned, frondlike curls, than would be the common cursive Kef. This tends to make the mark very feminine. It is at this point that the symbolism of the brand becomes more clear, The two frondlike curls indicate feminity and beauty......the staff, in its umcompromising severity, indicates that the feminity is subject to discipline<; the upturned curves on the frondlike curls indicate total openness and vulnerability. It is a very simple, lovely brand, simple, as befits a slave, lovely, as befits a woman. this one wears this upon her left thigh in r/t now, ~smiles~ it is beautiful va hopes that this helps M/many who did not know this information, as well as gives much more meaning to the mark upon a girl. thank You to A/all who answered this one in e-mail ~smiling~ as she sets the chalk down and skips out of the tavern
