First, the Council of GS is the final say in what is and is not accepted in Gorean Shores. The Protocols are designed to provide guidance to patrons and slaves. Until the Council votes on how to address this situation (one which has not occurred before), the slave pagar is expected to act as a slave while in Gorean Shores, and is to be accorded the protections and responsibilities inherent to her collar. Second, never assume that just because something is in the books of John Norman, that it is accepted in Gorean Shores. I will repeat something I have said many, many times: THIS IS NOT THE GOR OF THE BOOKS It cannot be, and never will be, the same. If you haven't figured that out yet, then you do not understand Gor. Slaves speak in first person in the books. They do not in GS. Giant talking spiders exist on Gor. They do not in GS. Slaves are sometimes freed on Gor. They are not in GS. I could go on and on talking about the differences. The Council of Captains will address this issue in due course. Until then, the slave is expected to act in accordance with the Slave Rules, as posted in the GS Homepage. Xern PS: Now, my personal opinion. The Protocols of GS are very clear. If a Free Woman chooses to become a slave, by any means, and she comes to GS as a slave, she remains a slave. What happens in other taverns is of little relevance to GS, but if it happens in GS, it becomes GS business. If you want my personal opinion about this "contract", seek me in the tavern. I believe my comments, as posted here, would be too inflammatory.
