: Tal, and greetings to all.......... : : : Often....... Some of the most difficult questions that we can ask ourselves come from out of the blue, with no warning....... LOL.... Such a thing happened the other day to Me as I sat speaking with a kajira that often comes to Me and talks of many things..... Life..... love.... RT matters.... and Gor ......... : This kajira had begged release from her Master ........ repeatedly .... and been told * NO * each time.... As is often the case, she can/could not understand why a Master would want to keep a kajira that doesn’t feel wanted or useful any more........ What made things worse, or harder to understand is that this kajira is slave in RT...... so she is well aware of what it is to be kajira..... and owned........ : While talking about the difference between RT, and VT ...... the girl asked Me * Why does a Master own a VT slave ???????? ..... I gave her several reasons that I thought of........then offered to speak with her Master, Myself...... to see just why He would not release, sell, or dispose of the girl..... : Later, after talking to the girl, ..... I kept thinking about just what she had said..... and that question....... It burrowed deep into My brain, and kept coming back to the surface........ : Now an RT slave is easily explained..... Because a Master has His slave there..... in the flesh...... under his constant control, and is owned in the real world....... So no matter what level of the slavery...... He is there to enforce His will and enjoy the pleasures of His slave......... After all..... RT is REAL..... I have My RT kajira...... have for years...... The idea, and the responsibilities of owning a kajira in RT are in no way at question as far as I am concerned...... : ** WHY DO MASTERS OWN VT SLAVES ???????????????????? : : We are all interacting on-line, in this Gorean form, or forum...... On Gor, there are Free Persons, and there are slaves...... A person must be one, or the other........If you are NOT the type of person that feels submissive to others, then you are ( or should be .....LOL.. ) Free ......... If you are submissive, then you should be slave...... That part of the system should be easy to deal with..... But once the choice is made, then each must act the part, or follow accepted behaviour to portray their on-line character, or presence....... For some, this is easily done... for others, it becomes a constant battle to stay within their chosen status............... : Anyway.... On to a list of some of the reasons I came up with ...... I will not explain all the reasons for the choices that I list, but will leave that to the thoughts of those reading them.... I invite others to add to the list, to possibly enlighten others and to show the many reasons that I most likely didn’t think of....... But one request if I may ???????? Lets TRY to keep this to REASONABLE....and LOGICAL ..... explanations, and avoid repeating the useless rhetoric that all of us know .... ** Because *I* can ....** ......... ** Because it pleases Me ** ....... and many others..... Lets hear from people, the REAL reasons....... the inner feelings, and thoughts...... : : REASONS FOR OWNING V.T. SLAVES !!!!!!!!!!!! : 1. Because it is expected of * Masters * to own a slave........ LOL...One of the most asked questions of every new Gorean is .... * How do *I* get one of these slaves for Myself ??? : 2. The * Macho * factor...... If a man doesn’t own a slave, he may well think that others see him as * lacking * in the *Master, or Male * department......... : 3, The *Alcove * factor...... To own a VT slave, and have the unquestioned right to drag her off for cyber-sex at any time ......... : 4. The * One-Upmanship * factor........ To own a slave, and have that fact to show off to others.......... : Now, the above reasons are just a few, and represent the most base, or shallow reasons that I could think of...... But while digging deep within yourself, take the time to think about each of them, and see if they might colour, or shade any of your own reasons for owning a slave.......... : : 5. On-line companionship..... We are social animals.... and even on this electronic medium, we are seeking the interaction, or * touch * of others.... What better way to insure that we will never be alone than to *own * another person ..... to order them to come and be with you......talk with you..... interact with you..... : 6. Protection ..... To own slaves, such as a Captain, Jarl, or Ubar of a Gorean chat site, or room, is to provide care, and protection for those kajira within Your scope of influence...... The reasons can run the full gambit from simply wanting slaves in the site to attract others to * YOUR * site, rather than others......... To fulfilling the duty of your position, to protect those who call you Master......... To caring for the kajira that are part of your home....women that you have a friendship, or personal link with ... and wanting to do whatever you can to keep them as safe as possible while they also enjoy their time on-line....... : 7. Love ? or Caring deeply for an on-line slave .......... While this may sound a bit far fetched to some.... Once we can get past the semantics , it is possible to form a true...... and deep connection or relationship with another person, even if only over this network of wires, keys, and monitors......... To what end, or level this type of relationship can reach, I can’t say or explain ........Each person is different..... Each pairing, or Master/slave couple is it’s own special example..... To say that every such pair are the same is not only wrong, but short sighted...... To even say that either one in such a pair is or should be or act the same is ludicrous..... People are different...... and pairs, or couples don’t always act or react the same way that another couple will...... The Master/slave relationship is much like an RT marriage..... some work.... some work well.... some are outstanding......... and some or many don’t work at all..... Why should on-line be any different in this regard than RT ????? And I should note here, that to My way of thinking, this CAN be done and kept on-line........ And not used as a way to try and draw another into an RT slave, or sexual situation......... While some feel that the linking of RT and VT slavery is okay, I personally would never see this as a possibility....... But then, I have had My RT slave for many years..... so the idea of combining RT and VT for Me is not at question ......... If you have combined your VT Master/slave relationship with your RT..... FINE...... If it works .... for you both ..... I am glad........ : Also, here might be a good place to ask just how many Masters feel that they can own multiple slaves.... and still maintain a proper level of commitment and interaction with all of them..... ????? Does such a Master truly give ANY of these kajira all the attention they deserve ??? Perhaps it is more a question once again of the level of commitment between Master and slave/slaves ????? for Myself, I can’t understand a man owning more than one kajira.... personally, at one time.... But then, in the books, some men owned many girls at the same time...... LOL.. And Wodin knows that I would not try to tell another man he should NOT do something, just because I feel that I could not do the same thing .... But the question remains..... Do all of the slave/slaves in such a relationship receive the attention or one-on-one contact that she should receive or could reasonably expect to ask for....... ????????? : I know that this is not all the possible answers........ But then, that is why I am writing this........ I want to see just what other variations, or different ideas others will come up with, and feel like sharing........LOL.. : : Lets address here some of the Gorean ideas or reasons that will come up in this discussion....... Yes, on Gor slaves are only property..... have no say in ANYTHING once owned..... and are worth only what their Master says they are...... And A Master may own a slave for any reason, even if only that * It Pleases Me to do so ....* He need not care about the feelings or thoughts of a slave...... The only reason a Gorean slave is there at all is to please a Master..... in whatever way He sees fit....... No question, or argument on Gorean philosophy .......... BUT...... Lets also concede the fact that this is on-line, and not all the rules of engagement are as clear cut, or binding........... slaves..... kajira....... women that submit to the position of submissive on-line still have all the rights and abilities that this medium allows EVERYBODY....... they can’t be forced to log on....... they can’t be forced to acknowledge ANY idea, concept, or action that they don’t want to........ they can’t be forced to serve ANY person ..... they do so WILLINGLY...... because they choose to........ NOT ordered to...... NOT made to ........ So let us at least admit that the Master/slave relationship must be in someway desired or pleasing to the slave as well or the entire concept or institution could not continue on-line........ : Well..... There it is.... some ideas to look at, and comment on...... I hope that those that conceder this whole issue will take it in the open manner it is offered..... Not as an insult to how some act or conduct their personal activities..... And not conceder Me some type of Gorean heretic for asking this.......
